3 rows done!

Well I have finally got some photos of the beginnings of my first ever quilt! I am hand sewing and only managing an hour here and there, hence the slow nature of my work! I am quite pleased with it so far. Only 4 rows to go and then need to seam them all together. My sewing isn't the neatest in the world but it is secure and the more I practice the better it gets.

I am finding the method very relaxing and sitting in the quiet is really pleasant. I pray and talk to God and sing choruses in my head. It is a lovely contemplative way to spend a few hours in the evening.

2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,

3 he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.

Psalm 23: 2-3, NIV.

  2. Collette that is SO beautiful!!! Taking the time to do something you enjoy is so refreshing. Also, you said that you can only do a little here and a little there, it just shows what we can accomplish in small time allotments if we'll just busy ourselves in doing something!
    Blessings!

  4. Beautiful Collette! I tried to quilt once, but the "l" fell out and I found I quit. I hope to pick it back up again one day.

    Yours is lovely here.

  5. Collette,

Nothing will be more valuable and appreciated than something you can make from your hands. Isn't quilting relaxing? There is just something to it that what you are making will be used to cuddle with and keep warm on cold days! Love in the form of something made from the heart. It doesn't get any better than that.
