Saturday again already! Time for another Psalm filled Saturday. This one has been in my head since the beginning of the week.
Psalm 121 (New International Version)
Psalm 121
A song of ascents.
where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD watches over you—
the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;
8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.
Isn't this a beautiful Psalm? I had never really read this until the beginning of the week. How does it make you feel when you read it?
The words make me feel reassured, calm, safe and comforted.
he who watches over you will not slumber;
God doesn't want us to trip up! He guides us, is always there and carries us! How comforting to know this promise.
the Maker of heaven and earth.
How amazing to know that He who helps us is the creator of the universe! What bigger, better help can we receive than this? None!
both now and forevermore.
God doesn't just look out for us when he wants to or when we want him to. He is always watching over us and will always be there! We just need to allow him into our lives. He will be with us for ever and ever. He is unchanging and stable. He will not let us down like people can. He is dependable and loves us dearly. He loves us warts and all! I am so thankful that he does!
Feel free to write what your thoughts and feelings are when you read this Psalm.
I always think of the Casting Crowns song Praise You in this Storm when I read that Psalm. I joined you this week for Psalm Saturday. Thanks!! :o)
ReplyDeleteLove ya!

Comfort. Confidence. Pride. Peace. Love.
ReplyDeleteJust a few words that came to mind when I read this one. My 1st thought was "Praise You in This Storm" by Casting Crowns. I love to find the scriptures in which songs were breathed. LOVE this meme Collette. I am so glad that you were obedient in following this desire. So many of us will now benefit and be encouraged!
Hi Collette!!
ReplyDeleteThe first word that comes to mind is "comfort." But, not only that, of course. How reassuring it is to know that no matter what goes on in our lives, the Lord is right there..watching over us! He is our strong tower!!
Collette, Yes, this is a beautiful Psalm.
ReplyDeleteActually, I think that every Psalm is beautiful and I am so glad to continue to join you in this Saturday meme.
I think of Help and Guidance when I read this.
Thank you again for letting us join in this with you!
I love the Psalms. My favorite right now is Psalm 84. But such a joy to know that my Lord is the one who keeps my foot from straying from the path and stumbling.
ReplyDeleteThanks for splashing around with me today. Your sweet comments always bless me.
May you be saturated in His love today,
Sarah Dawn
