Try something new!

6 Sow your seed in the morning,
and at evening let not your hands be idle,
for you do not know which will succeed,
whether this or that,
or whether both will do equally well.
Ecclesiastes 11:6 NIV.

Those of you who know me please don't laugh! I am going to try quilting! I have come across lots of gorgeous ones on the Internet. A few weeks ago I ordered some lovely Moda fabric pre-cut squares. I don't have a sewing machine anymore, ( it got damaged when our house got flooded- another blog post!). So I will need to hand sew!
This is made of Moda fabrics and is just stunning! Obviously not a quilt though!!!

I am going to make a very basic small baby quilt to start with. I think this will be good for me as I can be at a loose end some evenings. I hope the hand sewing will slow me down and help me relax. I want this small starter quilt to be made with love. I will post some pics of my progress along the way as well!

I love this quilt featured on the Moda Bake Shop site which gives excellent tutorials from very talented people on different craft projects. My quilt will just be basic squares using some beautiful fabrics!

Once I get my design layout planned I will photograph it and share this first step with you all!

19 Her hands are busy spinning thread,
her fingers twisting fiber.
20 She extends a helping hand to the poor
and opens her arms to the needy.
21 She has no fear of winter for her household
for everyone has warmc]">[c] clothes.
Proverbs 31:19 - 21 NLT.

  6. Collette,

Once you begin you will love the satisfaction of watching it all slowly come together. I love to hand quilt when I can. The baby sized ones are perfect for that. Can't wait to see your finished product.
